20 years of web technology

Extend AS was founded in 1996 – when web technology still was in its infancy.

For many years I worked with internationally oriented IT industry and I found it very interesting. Thus the decision to start a business based on exploiting web technology was made. It turned out that very few knew anything about web technology at that time, so we had to hire and develop young people with a passionate interest in this new area.

St Olav’s Hospital became a pilot customer

The company worked with the development and delivery of web pages and portals for municipalities during the first years. Eventually we turned our attention towards the development of a specialized system for quality management, initially for governing documents and procedures in hospitals. Our first pilot customer was RiT, current St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheim.

Many different application areas

Since then EQS (Extend Quality System) has been continuously developed and improved. Today the software covers many application areas such as management and quality. EQS has become a powerful tool for handling incidents, nonconformities and improvement suggestions, risks, documents and competence. The competence area in EQS is completely new and was launched in December 2015.

145,000 users in various industries

Extend AS have developed a robust and flexible software that is prepared for the future. EQS has approximately 145,000 users within healthcare, aquaculture, municipalities, industry, trade – and entrepreneurial activity. By using modern tools we are able to provide our customers with backward-compatibility. This ensures that new features becomes available to all established clients. Good opportunities for integration with other systems is also something EQS can provide.

Delivers attractive quality

EQS is multilingual and currently supports four languages (more to come). Our vision is to be a leading supplier in selected markets and to achieve complete customer satisfaction by delivering attractive quality. Extend AS also want to provide our customers and our staff security, by maintaining high credit quality through good earnings. We also seek good business partners who can gain synergies through interaction with our company.
